Master of Theology
Programme Philosophy and Objectives
As the church in Africa continues to grow in population and services, its need for qualified individuals with a competent background in church leadership is also growing. Recognizing this need, the Regent Divinity Department is offering the Master of Theology programme to provide those who hold a first degree in theology or religious studies and pos-M.Div. students, with an opportunity for advanced study and guided research in theological studies. The Master of Theology pragramme is a postgraduate pragramme designed for students who aspire to achieve a high level of competence in theological education and ministry.
This MTh’s integrated approach to biblical, theological, and practical studies enables the student to gain a holistic and Christ-centered understanding of the biblical story and its outworking in contemporary ministry.
The Regent Divinity Department’s programme prepares students into all aspects of the Christian faith in order to enrich their own ministries, to present the gospel faithfully and creatively in rapidly changing world, and to accept the challenge of preparing others to do the same. Some students may choose the MTh program to enhance their academic qualifications for doctoral studies while others may opt for teaching appointments in theological institutions.
