Booking Short Loan Material
The Short Loan Collection is a collection of books, journals and photocopied articles, chosen by lecturers, which are in high demand because they are required reading for undergraduates and taught postgraduates. The content of the collection changes each year as new material is added and items less heavily used are returned to their regular place on the shelves. Short Loan items may be booked in advance for a 4 hour period or for overnight use.
Points to note before you start booking
Bookings can ONLY be placed on the Short Loan Collections of reading list materials and study rooms, where available (the latter must be made by contacting service point staff). If you change your mind and want to cancel bookings, you can do this by contacting service point staff).
Making a booking
- Click on the title of the Short Loan item you want to book . Then click on the “BOOK this item” button.
- Enter your *RGL user name and password and submit your details. Alternatively, if prompted, input your barcode number from your campus card .
- Choose the date and time for your booking to start, then click on Submit button
- You should then see a message confirming your booking and giving details e.g.You have booked this material from M 10-09 11:00 to M 10-09 15:00
If you try to book an item, when another booking has already been placed, you will see a message: Sorry, item is not available to book. Try again.
